Last summer we visited Santa Fe to attend the open warehouse invitational of Brian Lebel’s Old West Events. There we were happy to see our old friend Brian Lebel and his wife Melissa in their work space.
We had a chance to view TONS of wonderful merchandise! Most of it headed for the Old West Show & Auction that happened in January… this preview was amazing. **Stay tuned for our upcoming blog about our time at the auction!
We were privileged and honored to be welcomed to see their space chock full of wonder and amazement! Literally every corner, and all of the walls are decked out (if only temporarily) with some of the finest in western collectibles, anywhere.
Among the loot we found an enviable stack of Wallace China Westward Ho pattern designed by Till Goodan… SWOON! We’ve got the S&P, but not this entire set.
Piles of studded document boxes and trunks that would rival any YSL luggage!
These one-of-a-kind saddle bags show a cowboy herding longhorn cattle to wonderful effect!
Some of the items in their collection are beyond great… can you imagine the entry grand enough for this piece?!
Things so terrific, so utterly fantastic, you wish you had an unlimited budget and a whole compound to decorate… or, is that just me?
Any mixologist’s barback would simply shine with the addition of these lovelies. Classic. Beautiful.
We could have taken hundreds of pictures, we could have spent days. We felt spurred to take it all in… see what I did there?
So many wonderful artifacts and symbols of our iconic American west. True one-of-a-kind items that embody a nostalgic ideal. This particular buckskin shirt had simply gorgeous Native American beaded detail.
The aisles of vintage saddles, each bearing the marks of historic haunches, each with a story or style that makes it exemplary.
We thought we had seen the best of the best, when Brian took us into his office and showed us a stash of treasure!
There are hidden gems all over this place… stashed in boxes, on high shelves, over there, under here, everywhere!
The Old West Show & Auction has 2 events annually, as mentioned above their latest event took place in Mesa, AZ in January. Their next show and auction will take place in Fort Worth, TX in June.
Next week we’ll share our experience at the show in Arizona last month!
